Eat lunch the lodge or camp before departing on your planned afternoon game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge/camp.
Day 2Awake early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. We will then set off on a “spice” game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from wildebeest to giraffes to baboons. You will eat breakfast after returning to the lodge and then visit a nearby Masai village. You will eat lunch at the lodge at midday and enjoy an afternoon rest before going on another game drive. Amboseli is home to the legendary Masai tribesmen. These warriors are a famous and proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with wild animals are known across the world. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at a camp or lodge.
Day 3Depart Amboseli for Lake Naivasha, stopping for lunch in Nairobi. You will arrive at the lake in time for an optional afternoon boat ride. Alternatively, you can opt to go on a nature walk along Crescent Island, which is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot. The island is a private game sanctuary that is home to zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, vervet monkeys, hares, genet cats, waterbuck and giraffe. Your overnight stay will be at a nearby lodge or hotel.
Day 4Today you will make your way from Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara Game Reserve – the jewel of Kenya’s national parks. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains and is famous for its role during the spectacular great wildebeest migration. It is also home to the “big five”: elephant, leopard, rhino, lion and cape buffalo. Lunch will be served upon arrival, followed by an afternoon game drive. You will explore the reserve until the late evening, at which point you will return to the camp. Here we will relax around the camp/lodge fire before an excellent dinner.
Day 5The Masai Mara is one of the greatest wildlife wildernesses in the world. Large mammals are varied, abundant and easy to see. It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals of any wildlife park in the region. The scenic appeal of the tree studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and the diversity of wild game species here makes it a one stop shop for game viewing activities. We shall traverse the Masai Mara during a full day of unlimited game viewing, encountering the “big five” and many more. You will eat a picnic lunch next to the Mara River as we watch hippos and crocodiles or the great migration (July – October). The best hot air balloon rides are also available today at an additional cost.
Day 6Go on an early, pre-breakfast game viewing drive before departing the Mara for Nairobi. You will arrive in the afternoon and be transferred to a hotel or the airport. This will conclude your safari.
